Of the 2,029 applicants, 2,018 applied to local companies while 11 tried their luck in searching for overseas opportunities.
As per DOLE’s report, only 158 out of the 2,029 made it to the cut; 154 got hired by the 33 participating local companies while four (4) passed the interview for overseas work.
Twenty-two (22) overseas companies participated in the Jobs Fair while nine (9) took part via the online platform.
During the short program, DOLE Secretary Sylvestre Bello conveyed his message to all participating agencies and job seekers thru DOLE Bicol Regional Director Zenaida A. Campita.
Princess Dela Torre, 22 years old and a resident of Cararayan, Naga City said that the Jobs Fair is a big help to people like her who are trying to bounce back after the economic setback caused by the COVID 19 pandemic.
Campita said that the 2022 Labor Day Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan activity, in celebration of the Labor Day is DOLE’s way of reaching out to all workers who continue to fight the chain of poverty by never giving up despite the challenges brought by the COVID 19 pandemic.
