Iriga: DOH Bicol CHD in partnership with BRHMC spearheads Mass Immunization Activity for Bivalent Covid-19 Booster vaccine

As part of intensifying the general population’s protection against COVID-19, the Department of Health-Bicol Center for Health and Development (DOH Bicol-CHD) in partnership with Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) conducted the PinasLakas Vaccination Activity yesterday, August 22, 2023 at the Healthy Lifestyle Complex, DOH-Bicol CHD Compound.

The activity is open and free to all individuals from different sectors and age group seeking to get their booster shot of the bivalent vaccine provided that they have completed their primary doses for the last 4-6 months.

According to Dr. Ernie V. Vera, DOH Bicol CHD Regional Director, the department continues to encourage everyone to get the vaccine since it contains both the original strain and the omicron variant of the COVID-19 which can further protect ourselves from severe illness, and even death from the said virus.

The vaccination site and team ensured the smooth flow of the vaccine administration from registration up to the post-vaccination monitoring to ensure that the vaccine recipients are well before leaving the vaccination area. To those individuals interested of getting the booster jab, different vaccination sites and schedules are also disseminated for reference purposes.
