Today, the Department of Education (DepEd) Region V, with the officials from DepEd Central Office’s Learning Systems is holding an engaging orientation on the Learning System Reform Policies for school heads across the region at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation, Legazpi City. This crucial session is designed to empower the region’s educational leaders and teachers with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the evolving landscape of the Philippine Education System.
Assistant Secretary Jerome T. Buenviaje highlighted the importance of this orientation, emphasizing that understanding the background and “bigger picture” behind these reforms is essential for the successful implementation in every classroom. “It’s the crucial step to reform our educational practices, recognizing the actual scenarios in schools” he stated.
Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad expressed his appreciation for the conduct of the event and noted that it is one of the necessary steps to provide meaningful learning strategies for the learners. He also emphasized the importance of support and collaboration among key actors and implementers from the Central Office, the Regional Office to the Schools Divisions, and the schools.
Meanwhile, while the orientation fosters transformational education and commitment to delivering quality education, it has also showcased the benefit of utilizing technology using the interactive televisions procured by DepEd for the field offices and schools.
All thirteen Schools Divisions of Region V set up their respectivie viewing clusters locally to ensure that all target participants are able to remotely engage in the actual orientation happening at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation with over a thousand participants attending the event.
A second orientation is slated this May 15, following the same venue and setup.
