The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Albay has expressed support for a Department of Trade and Industry program aimed at strengthening agri-based enterprises.
The backing was formalized through a resolution adopted by the Committee on Trade and Commerce during the 40th Regular Session.
The initiative seeks to improve sustainability and productivity in the agri-food and agri-fisheries sectors.
It also aims to address recurring challenges faced by local agri-based enterprises in the province.
The program is a six-year national initiative scheduled for implementation from January 2027 to December 2032.
Committee Chairperson Atty. Sheina Marie Onrubia-Dela Cruz moved for the passage of the resolution extending full support.
The provincial government will also endorse the initiative to the Regional Development Council Region V as a priority program for Albay.
