The City Government of Iriga was awarded the highest nutrition seal of compliance for its programs aimed at eradicating malnutrition.

At the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony today, the National Nutrition Council-Bicol Region (NNC-Bicol) awarded Iriga City the 2022 Green Banner Seal of Compliance for its sustainable intervention programs to combat and completely eradicate instances of malnutrition, especially among children.

Mayor Rex C. Oliva, City Health Officer Dr. Ronald G. Pereña, and CNAO Rariza Carmela received the award.

This is the highest citation given to a local government unit (LGU) for achieving at least 85 percent overall rating with Iriga City garnering a score 93.01%.

The recognition was granted by the National Nutrition Council Region V as a result of Iriga City Nutrition Committee’s active participation in the Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI).

MELLPI is an annual activity conducted by the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) of the National Nutrition Council to assess the performance of LGUs and local nutrition workers.

A Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) is held annually to recognize and award local government units and nutrition workers who have excelled in managing and implementing nutrition programs throughout the previous year. (Jv Navarro Verdeflor Jr)
