The Provincial Government of Camarines Norte, through Governor Ricarte R. Padilla, expressed its support in building efforts for a sustainable health care system for the implementation of Universal Health Care (UHC) in the province.
This was the highlight of its first Provincial Health Summit on September 17, 2024 in Daet, Camarines Norte which was graced by OIC-Regional Director Dr. Rodolfo Antonio M. Albornoz of the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol).
Gov. Padilla said that to prevent congestion in primary care facilities, the Health Care Provider Network (HCPN) must be well-organized.
In his speech, RD Albornoz underscored the significant role of health officials in organizing the Province and City-Wide Health System (PCWHS) in the province. He said that the DOH Bicol is in full support in enhancing health facilities in the province and emphasized the importance of mobilizing communities to practice health-seeking behaviors.
Further, Camarines Norte Provincial Health Officer Dr. Arnel E. Francisco expressed his utmost gratitude to the key stakeholders. He said that the Camarines Norte PHO is continuing its efforts to fully implement UHC in the province.
Dr. Rachelle O. Diezmo, Medical Specialist II, shared the province’s situationer, while Dr. Ronald Santelices discussed the E-Konsulta Program.
Regional Vice President, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Mr. Alberto C. Mandurin shared the PhilHealth benefits and konsulta package. Meanwhile, Sorsogon Provincial DOH Officer Dr. Gladys D. Escote shared the best practices of the province of Sorsogon for UHC to encourage and guide the province of Camarines Norte to come up with more of its own initiatives.
The event which was initiated by the Camarines Norte Provincial Health Office aimed to gather key stakeholders in the local health sector such as Local Chief Executives, Municipal Health Officers, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Sangguniang Bayan, and Kagawads for Health to boost the Province and PCWHS towards a more strengthened Health Care Provider Network.
Through a commitment wall signing, stakeholders pledged their support to the sustainable implementation of UHC.
