The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Camarines Norte is intensifying preparations for the School-Based Immunization (SBI) Program, urging parents and guardians to ensure their children receive recommended vaccines against diseases.
The SBI program is an annual joint initiative of the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd), and local government units (LGUs) aimed at protecting students, increasing vaccination coverage, and fostering healthier learning environments.
Through the program, vaccines such as Measles-Rubella (MR), Tetanus-Diphtheria (Td), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV) are administered directly to students in schools.
According to Nurse III Marino A. Abogado Sr. of the PHO, from January to June 2025 the province recorded 23.7 percent of fully immunized children (FIC) and 10.15 percent of completely immunized children (CIC).
DOH Bicol CHD and the Camarines Norte PHO are calling on parents and guardians to participate in the program to protect children against serious illnesses and prevent the spread of VPDs in schools and communities. (DOH5/NRB)
