BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution urging the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) to intensify visibility patrols in the city’s three main public markets.
Authored by Councilor Celia Matea Flor, chairperson of the City Council committee on markets, the resolution specifically calls for an enhanced presence in the Libertad, Central, and Burgos markets.
In an interview, Flor said that the supervisors asked for police visibility as there are increasing reports of theft and robbery that usually happens every time the shoplifters get an opportunity.
“It’s better that we let the public know about the police visibility to prevent bad intentions in our market,” Flor said.
She added that the reports of petty crime came from the three major markets over the last two months. (Theresa Mae Dulman via tvds)
