Information officers and media professionals across Bicol have pledged their support to amplify public health and nutrition campaigns during the 2026 Regional Nutriskwela and Bicol Media sa Nutrisyon Network, held July 24, 2026 in Legazpi City.
This reinforced alliance is centered on leveraging media platforms to boost health literacy, enhance service accessibility, and foster better public participation on health and nutrition initiatives.
The Bicol Media sa Nutrisyon Network is the official media arm of the National Nutrition Council Bicol formed to ensure effective dissemination of factual, pertinent, and timely nutrition information to the public. By tapping into regional news outlets, broadcast networks, and digital communication platforms, the network bridges critical information gaps to empower families with actionable knowledge on health, wellness, and proper nutrition.
During the joint conference, Dr. Voltaire S. Guadalupe, Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development Regional Director administered the induction and oath taking ceremony of the network’s board members and officers.
Dr. Voltaire emphasized that combating stunting and malnutrition calls for a multi-sectoral collaboration in order for advocacy campaigns and communication efforts to reach the most vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
With misinformation becoming alarmingly rampant, DOH Bicol CHD and NNC Bicol are optimistic that the media’s participation shall impose significant influence in shaping public opinion, promote sustainable nutrition habits, and cultivate positive social and behavior change to Bicolanos
