The Ateneo de Naga University College of Law Price Moot Court Team paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Rex C. Oliva on April 1, 2026, in connection with their participation in the International Rounds of the Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition to be held at the University of Oxford in England.
The team recently qualified for the international rounds, marking a historic milestone as the first team from Bicol and South Luzon to advance to the prestigious global competition.
Among the members of the delegation is Vera Therese B. De Villa, an Iriga City native, who joins the team in representing not only the Philippines but also the Asia-Pacific region in the competition. The group was accompanied by their law professor, Atty. Shane B. Berina-Imperial.
The team comprises Faham Zachriel D. Abiog, Euphrasia Mae Therese E. Bon, Franzine Shane C. Cloza, Vera Therese B. De Villa, Renee Isabelle A. Natividad, John Carlo Z. Nolasco, Rio Theodore S. Rodriguez, and Rollie G. Visitacion.
In support of their academic endeavor, the City Government of Iriga, thru Mayor Rex, extended financial assistance to the delegation. Vera Therese B. De Villa received ₱10,000, while the other team members each received ₱5,000 to aid in their participation.
The Monroe E. Price Media Law Moot Court Competition is recognized as one of the world’s most prestigious moot court contests, focusing on issues of freedom of expression and media law. The international rounds are scheduled from April 13 to 17, 2026.
The City Government expressed its pride in the team’s achievement and reaffirmed its support for initiatives that highlight the excellence and global competitiveness of Irigueño.
