Iriga: Arribarakong Magayon 2024: A Celebration of Talent and Pride

The atmosphere was electric in front of the LCC Mall last June 19, 2024, as the City Government of Iriga, spearheaded by the Market Superintendent’s office led by Mrs. Fatima Adayo, alongside Federation Market President Ms. Yolanda Oliveros and event organizer Cassey Casyao, unveiled the much-anticipated Search for ARRIBARAKONG MAGAYON 2024 Talent portion. The event, which celebrated Pride Month and the vibrant Pintakasi Festival, brought together 15 dazzling candidates from various stall sectors, each eager to showcase their unique talents.

As the evening sun dipped below the horizon, the stage came alive with a kaleidoscope of performances that ranged from heart-stirring ballads to gravity-defying dance routines. The crowd, a melting pot of excitement and anticipation, cheered on each participant, celebrating not just the talents on display but the spirit of unity and inclusivity that the event embodied. Mayor Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva and Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat graced the occasion, their heartfelt messages resonating with the audience as they extended their unwavering support to the LGBTQIA community, emphasizing the importance of honoring and respecting their invaluable contributions to society.

This event was a testament to the progressive and inclusive spirit of Iriga, a community that stands proudly against discrimination. The Search for ARRIBARAKONG MAGAYON 2024 was not just a talent show; it was a vibrant celebration of diversity, a platform that honored the creativity and resilience of the LGBTQIA community. Through their performances, the candidates not only showcased their talents but also shared their stories, weaving a rich tapestry of experiences that highlighted the beauty of acceptance and the power of pride.

Also present in the event were Sangguniang Panglungsod members Hon. Dandreb Abonite, Hon. Jessie Abonite, Hon. Melnan Murallo-Asanza, Hon. Nikki Lagrimas, and Hon. Jeff Tino, and Executive Secretary Jor-el Caayao.
