Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City – Three hundred (300) police recruits officially took their oath as new members of the Police Regional Office 5 on November 17, 2023.

The oath-taking and turnover ceremonies were led by the Regional Director of PRO5, PBGEN WESTRIMUNDO D OBINQUE who served as the Administering Officer.

In his address, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to the recruits for successfully passing the various stages of the application process. He emphasized that the oath-taking ceremony marks the beginning of a challenging and enduring journey.

“There will be many more obstacles along the way. If the time comes that you will have to make a choice between WHAT IS RIGHT and WHAT IS EASY, I hope that you will always remember the hardships, difficulties and sacrifices that you have had to face just to be here today and be a part of the long blue line”, he added.

These police recruits are part of the attrition recruitment program, requiring them to undergo an intensive six-month basic recruit course. Additionally, they will undergo the Field Training Program (FTP), engaging in on-the-job training in traffic management, investigation, and patrolling for an additional six months.

As their training unfolds, RD OBINQUE urged the recruits to strive for excellence consistently.

“Let me urge our new recruits to make the most of their time in the training school, to learn from the books and manuals, and from the wisdom and experience of your mentors and instructors. Aim to be the best versions of yourselves and gain not only knowledge and skills but, more importantly, the attitude to become capable and effective police officers in the near future.”

After these trainings, they shall be in permanent status as patrolman/patrolwoman rank once they finish the training that will be conducted by the Regional Training Center 5. They will receive a monthly basic pay of PHP29, 668.00 exclusive of allowances while undergoing training.
