The City Veterinary Office spearheaded the Flag Raising Ceremony on March 10, 2025, at the CDRRMO Multi-Purpose Covered Court in observance of Rabies Awareness Month. With the theme โ๐๐ข๐ฃ๐ช๐ฆ๐ด-๐๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฆ ๐ฏ๐ข ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ขโ๐ต ๐๐ด๐ฐ, ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐จ๐ต๐ข๐ด๐ข๐ฏ ๐ฏ๐จ ๐๐ข๐ฎ๐ช๐ญ๐บ๐ข,โ the event emphasized responsible pet ownership and rabies prevention. During the program, Acting City Veterinarian Dr. Mark Kevin Badiola highlighted the ongoing efforts of the City Veterinary Office, in collaboration with various agencies, to promote animal welfare and public safety.
As part of its barangay-based initiatives, the City Veterinary Office provides free anti-rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats every Tuesday to Thursday to help curb the spread of rabies in the community. Additionally, free castration services are available every Friday for walk-in clients at the City Veterinary Office, supporting pet population control and responsible pet care. These efforts aim to create a safer environment for both animals and residents.
Meanwhile, the City Government of Iriga, under the leadership of Mayor Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva, was awarded a swine hauling truck under the Livestock and Poultry Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office V. The awarding ceremony took place on March 7, 2025, at the Kafuerte Sports Complex, Provincial Capitol Compound, Cadlan, Pili, Camarines Sur. The addition of this hauling truck strengthens Iriga Cityโs commitment to supporting local farmers and improving livestock and poultry development, further advancing the city’s agricultural initiatives.
Through these programs, the City Veterinary Office continues to play a crucial role in public health, animal welfare, and agricultural sustainability. With proactive efforts in disease prevention, responsible pet care, and livestock development, Iriga City remains steadfast in ensuring a safer, healthier, and more progressive community.
