The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol invited local municipal and city Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officers from the province of Albay for a two-day Integrated Planning Course on Incident Command System (ICS) training.
A total of 40 representatives from Local Government Units (LGUs) across Albay participated in a series of workshops focused on disaster risk response, with primary training centered on the ICS.
The training, spearheaded by the OCD Region V in collaboration with the Albay Public Safety and Emergency Management Office (APSEMO), aims to equip LGUs with knowledge of the ICS—a standardized response tool designed to improve and streamline disaster risk response efforts.
Representatives from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (MDRRMOs) were trained to differentiate between strategic and tactical responses depending on the nature of an emergency crisis.
