IPs Of Talaingod Support The Government Efforts During “DavNor Adlaw Sa Kalinaw”

Davao del Norte – Another joint effort of Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) spearheaded by Provincial Local Government Unit of Davao del Norte under the leadership of Hon Edwin I Jubahib, Governor with the participation of the troops of 56th Infantry (TATAG) Battalion led by LTC Norman E. Valdez INF (GSC) PA resulted to the successful conduct of “DavNor Adlaw sa Kalinaw” Information and Service Caravan to the IP beneficiaries of target communities of Talaingod held at Sitio KM31, Brgy Dagohoy, Talaingod, Davao del Norte.

This activity is a continuation of PLGU’s Local Peace Engagement (LPE) activities in conflict-affected areas of Davao del Norte. The provincial government in collaboration with OPAPP, LGU-Talaingod, Army, PNP, TESDA, DOLE, DSWD, NCIP, DENR, DTI, DILG, DepEd, Kiwanis International, and Rotary Tagum North were able to deliver basic services, were able to provide food packs, sleepers, clothing, toys, vegetables, free haircut, educational supplies, and massive information and awareness drives to the IP communities in Sitio Badyatan Uno, Badyatan Dos, Pongpong, Dangulog, KM30, km25, Tibucag, Inaloy and KM31, all of Brgy Dagohoy.

“The issues that were exploited by the CPP-NPA-NDF to deceived you were already being acted upon, there’s no more reason that these terrorist groups can still penetrate to your communities. The only thing we could ask from you is your support with this endeavor towards peace and development,” said BGen Nolasco A. Mempin, Commander of 1003rd Bde.

During the program, the tribal leaders were able to raise their issues and concerns to the government. As a response, Gov Jubahib said in his message, “The government is already working on the issues and concerns that you have raised and it will deliver to you in time. All we can ask is to help us in achieving lasting peace and development that we are longing for and persuade your relatives who were still in the hands of terrorism to withdraw their support and return to the folds of the law.” Willingly, the tribal leaders and IPs strongly agreed and assured that they can make their relatives surrender and drive away NPAs in their respective community.

“Further, we should continue to build good relationship towards one another because this relationship that we established will eventually pass to our future generations.” Gov. Jubahib added.

The said program was graced by Engr Josie Jean Rabanoz, Provincial Administrator; Hon Jonnie A Libayao, Mayor-Talaingod; Hon Francisco Gipulla, Vice Mayor-Talaingod; PCOL Rannie P. Hachuela, PD, DNPPO; Mr Oliver Binancilan, Area Head Management, OPPAP; CPT Angel Peralta (OS) PA, 10CMOBn, and some other Local and National Government officials.
