Police operatives of CIDG9, RMFB9, BFAR9 and Zamboanga City Police Station 4 conducted joint law enforcement operation thru implementation of search warrant no. 03-2020 at Brgy. Talabaan, Zamboanga City at about 5:00 PM of December 3, 2020.
The operation was against Usman Jamali Pingli (at-large), legal age, male, and a resident of Zone 4, Brgy. Talabaan, Zamboanga City charged for violation of RA 8550 (The Philippines Fisheries Code of 1998 as amended by RA 10654).
The search warrant was issued by Hon. Judge, Peter V. Eisma, Executive Judge of RTC, Ninth Judicial Region, Branch 15, Zamboanga City dated December 3, 2020.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of 12 sets of stockpiles of giant clams with grand total of 609.54 cubic meter with estimated market value of ₱ 645,000,000.00.
Further, confiscated items were turned over to BFAR 9 for proper documentation and disposition.
