Games officials on ‘Rise Up Shape Up’

THE Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) will discuss Filipino international sports officials in the online “Rise Up, Shape Up” episode on Saturday.

The PSC-Women in Sports (WIS) program dedicates the episode to officials who make extra effort and contribution in bolstering integrity, respect and sportsmanship in competitions.

“It is our simple way of extending our gratitude to them for their selfless effort, passion and love for sports especially in producing world-class Filipino talents,” WIS oversight Commissioner Celia Kiram said.

Kiram will also talk about facts and trivia on officiating in her regular segment “Kwentong Isport.”

Five Filipina technical officials in the Tokyo Olympic Games headline the episode that starts at 10:30 am. They are Marilee Estampador and Karla Cabrera of fencing, Jercyl Lerin of rowing and Leonora Escollante of paddling.

Also joining the program is Dr. Marie Paz Angeles, who will talk about career paths and development for aspiring sports officials. She served as head and International Accreditor of Tarlac State University in partnership with the Russian Register based in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Angeles also chairs the Tarlac State University Research Ethics and Review Committee and co-chair of the Psychological Association of the Philippines-Educational Psychology Division.
