Former CAFGU Shot Dead By Riding In Tandem In Zamboanga Del Norte

Zamboanga City – A former member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFU) was shot and killed by riding in tandem early dawn Saturday, March 6, 2021.

 

Capt. Edwin Duco, Police Regional Office 9 Regional Spokesman claimed the shooting incident transpired at Barangay Poblacion, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte in front of Land Bank at about 1:25 AM of March 6, 2021.

 

Duco claimed, Sindangan Municipal Police Station immediately proceeded to the place of incident to verify the said report. Upon arrival in the crime scene the victim was immediately brought to Sindangan District Hospital by the responding team for immediate medical attention however the victim was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician Dr. Michael Philip Leciones.

 

The victim was identified as Jay Erlie Caseros Seno, 31 years old, male, married and a resident of Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur based on his Identification Card recovered from his possession (Professional Driver’s License, ERS construction ID, LGU ID, CR and OR of motorcycle).

Duco said, initial investigation conducted disclosed that at about 1:20 AM  of same date, while the victim was on board of his single motorcycle (KLX 150 color green, with temporary plate number 092003) and parked in front of “balot” stall talking with the vendor identified as Jeraldine Enclunar Navarro, 37 years old, female, married and a resident of Barangay Dapaon of said Municipality, suddenly unidentified single motorcycle appeared boarded with two (2) unidentified suspects alighted from their motorcycle  then shot the victim several times causing him to suffer serious injuries.

 

The motorcycle riding suspects fled to north direction after the commission of the incident, Duco claimed.

 

The victim according to Duco is a former CAFGU member assigned at Tolledo, Zamboanga del Sur and currently working as service driver of ESR Construction And Development Corporation. 

PNP personnel of Sindangan MPS still conducting follow-up investigation for possible arrest of the suspects and coordinated with the Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Crime Lab Office for crime scene operation.
