Foreign nationals (FN) with long-term visas can now enter the country after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF) passed a new resolution.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in an online briefing on Friday the new IATF policy will apply to those with valid and existing visas at the time of entry who were previously barred from entering the country.

He said it will also apply to holders of valid and existing special resident and retiree’s visas and Section 9A visas provided they present an entry exemption document to the Bureau of Immigration upon arrival.

The Palace official, however, noted FNs with tourist visas will still not be allowed to travel in the country for now.

The IATF also instructed pension-issuing government agencies to come out with guidelines to ensure their senior citizens members can claim their pensions without physical appearances.

He said the new IATF resolution also removed special rules on mass gathering in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other areas still under general community quarantine (GCQ).

The new policy, he said, is in preparation for the proposal of government economic managers to place the entire country under modified GCQ (MGCQ) by next month.

President Rodrigo R. Duterte is set to decide on the said proposal after the Cabinet meeting next week.
