Follow Up Test Of The 4th Confirmed COVID-19 Case In Caraga Turns Negative 21 May 2020

DOH Caraga, today, received fifty (50) RT-PCR results from the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). Of the fifty results, one (1) is the follow-up test of the fourth confirmed COVID-19 case, nineteen (19) are Suspect cases, three (3) are probable cases, twenty-one (21) are from the colleagues and close contacts of the fourth confirmed case, and six (6) are from the positive Rapid Antibody Tests referred by LGUs. All results received tested Negative for COVID-19.

“If we look at our pattern of cases, we are able to avoid overload in our healthcare system by our surveillance and control measures. Let us sustain our efforts to reduce and prevent the transmission of this virus,” Regional Director Jose R. Llacuna, Jr. said.

As a recall, the fourth confirmed COVID-19 case is a 37-year-old Filipino female from Surigao City with no history of travel from areas with local transmission but has been exposed to COVID-19 cases as a health worker in Caraga Regional Hospital.

“As we shift to the New Normal, let us always remember to consistently practice the DOH minimum health standard advisories to combat COVID-19 like personal and environmental hygiene, physical distancing and early detection and isolation of individuals with flu-like symptoms,” the health chief added.

To date, DOH Caraga has recorded a total of four (4) confirmed cases where all are in good condition. (repost from DOH Caraga PR)
