Fire Incident At Phase 1, Sto. Niño Village, Brgy. Putik, Zamboanga City

Fire incident transpired at Phase 1, Sto. Niño Village, Brgy. Putik, Zamboanga City at about 2:20 PM of October 12, 2020. Personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 proceeded to the said place. Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) immediately suppressed and prevented the outbreak of fire. At about 3:20 PM of same date, responding BFP personnel were able to put out the fire.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that fire started at the house that was made of semi-concrete materials owned by Mrs. Dolore Basillio Dony who is already based in Australia. Said house was taken care of by her niece identified as Rovelyn Adlaon, 34 years old, female, married, together with her four children.

According to Rovelyn Adlaon, while they were in the dining area, they smelled a burning rubber and saw a thick smoke coming from the garage. Upon opening the said garage, they saw a big flame and immediately run outside the house.

BFP personnel declared that fire started from a faulty electrical wiring and no reported casualty with estimated cost of damage is ₱ 200,000.00.
