The WMSU Jambangan Dance Ensemble bagged the grand prize of P50K in the EDVEZ Cultural Dance Competition held Saturday, December 10, as part of the opening program highlights.
Winning second place with P30K prize was WMSU Jambangan Dance Troup while the Nawan Cultural Dance Troupe finished third place with P20K prize.
The Exposicion de Viajes en Zamboanga (EDVEZ) is an initiative of the City Government of Zamboanga through the City Tourism Office, to collaborate with the different local government units in the region and its tourism enterprises for the showcase of its destination and tourism products.
EDVEZ was officially launched in 2018 as one venue for all unique, extraordinary, and best tourism practices of Zamboanga Peninsula region.
The participating entities are designated with a space to set-up their products that include travel and tour services, dining and accommodation facilities, sites and destinations, cultural heritage performances and the like in the exhibit area.
EDVEZ intends to introduce and market the different tourism destinations, products, and services of the ZamPen Region in a wide platform and broader crowd; provide an opportunity for networking, face to face interaction and meet tourism clients; and provide a venue to showcase the different cultural heritage of the region.
