Epidemic Curve Of COVID-19 In Caraga Rises As New Variants Are Detected In The Region

There has been an increase in the epidemic curve in Caraga region, with 682 cases tallied on May 2-8, 2021; 743 cases in May 9-15, 2021; and 530 in May 16-22, 2021. According to Dr. Dioharra Aparri, this is due to the presence of the new COVID-19 variants as well as participation in mass gatherings. “With the rise of our daily attack rate, Caraga Region is now at moderate risk,” the local health official said.

The Caraga Regional Task Force on COVID-19 is conducting its 32nd Meeting today, May 20, via Zoom platform. To be discussed are the latest COVID-19 Health Situation report; the COVID-19 vaccine deployment in the region, among others. (RPN DXKS Surigao via Susil Ragas of PIA)
