The Local Government of Iriga, through its Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO), in partnership with Negosyo Center-Iriga and the City Legal Office, organized a seminar focusing on consumer protection, pricing strategies, and Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) analysis. The event took place on July 12, 2024, at the SSF ICT Building’s second floor in the New Government Center, Sta. Cruz Sur, Iriga City. The seminar aimed to educate local business owners and stakeholders on critical aspects of economic sustainability and legal compliance, contributing to the overall economic growth and consumer welfare in the region.
The seminar commenced with opening remarks from Mrs. Amor A. Soneja-Auro, Officer-in-Charge of LEDIPO, who highlighted the importance of the seminar in equipping local businesses with the knowledge necessary to navigate market dynamics effectively. Atty. Lee Johan Marie O. Caayao, a legal expert, provided an in-depth discussion on the Consumer Protection Act, detailing the rights of consumers and the legal responsibilities of businesses. This session aimed to ensure that businesses understand and adhere to consumer protection laws, thereby fostering a fair and trustworthy market environment.
Engr. Senen Emmanuel S. Malaya then led the discussion on pricing strategies and CVP analysis, providing attendees with practical insights on setting competitive prices and understanding the relationship between costs, sales volume, and profits.
Key figure present:Konsi Margarita B. Cabria of the IPMR, attended the seminar and contributed valuable insights from the perspective of indigenous peoples’ representation, highlighting the inclusive approach of the local government towards economic development.
The seminar concluded with a message from Mayor Rex C. Oliva. In his closing remarks, Mayor Rex emphasized the administration’s commitment to economically uplifting the residents of Iriga by supporting local businesses and encouraging sound economic practices. This seminar represents a significant step toward achieving those goals, promoting sustainable economic development in Iriga City.
