Joint elements of the 40th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and Buluan Municipal Police Station nabbed a drug suspect in a joint buy-bust operation at SPDA Compound, Barangay Poblacion, Buluan, Maguindanao on October 16, 2020, at around 5:30 in the morning.
According to Western Mindanao Command Chief Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr. the suspect was identified as a certain Jahir M. Guipal, a.k.a. Johny Long.
“The operation also resulted in the confiscation of a black pouch containing nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets weighing more or less 20 grams and containing white crystalline substances believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), ₱ 1000.00 buy-bust money with serial # EP 681816, one bundle of ₱ 1,000.00 bills amounting to ₱ 14,000.00, one brown leatherette wallet containing several identification cards, and two analog cellular phones,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. stated.
Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, the Commander of the Joint Task Force Central said that Guipal is one of the high-value targets (HVTs) in the PDEA’s list.
“He is also a Barangay Kagawad in the municipality of Mangudadatu,” Maj. Gen. Uy added.
Further, Maj. Gen. Uy said that the JTF Central is committed to supporting all legal mechanisms to end the prevalence of illegal drugs in the unit’s area of operation.
The said drug personality and the recovered items are now in the custody of PDEA-BARMM for documentation and proper disposition.
“We will attune all our efforts in upholding our unwavering support to the campaign of the President against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the country,” Lt. Gen. Vinluan, Jr. uttered.
“Rest assured that we will continuously cooperate with other law enforcement agencies in the efforts against all forms of lawlessness to curb violence in the western and central areas of Mindanao,” he added.
