Davao City:    From March 23 to April 14, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE XI) has delivered over P62,945,000 worth of assistance covering 12,589 workers from the formal sector who belong to 783 private establishments in Region XI.

The said assistance is a one-time cash distribution to members of the formal sector that is under the DOLE’s COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP). Given the limited budget, DOLE is going to turn over the list of workers who have not been covered by the said program.

The Information Officer for DOLE XI Eduardo Monreal mentioned that DOLE is currently in the middle of a transition stage for CAMP that is targeted towards qualified individuals from the formal sector to widen the coverage of the offered cash assistance by the national government.

“Ania ta karon sa transition stage kay kaning CAMP man gud para ni sa empleyado sa formal sector (We are now in the transition stafe for CAMP since this is for the employees who belong to the formal sector,” Monreal said.

Eduardo Monreal discussed that qualified applicants on DOLE’s lists who were not covered by the CAMP cash assistance distribution will be turned-over to DOLE’s partner government agencies of Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), and Department of Finance (DOF).

“Ang DOF, SSS ug BIR – silang tulo ang mag bayanihan para na pud sila na pud ang mag bayanihan ug cash assistance sa mga trabahante nato sa formal sector (The DOF, SSS, and BIR will work together to provide cash assistance for workers in the formal sector),” Monreal added. (PIA XI/KPC)
