DOH reports 8,615 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, due to lower lab output last Sunday

The Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday logged 8,615 additional Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,683,327.

“The relatively low cases today (October 12) is due to lower laboratory output last Sunday, October 10,” the DOH said.

There were also 25,146 recoveries and 236 deaths.

Of the total number of infections, 3.1 percent (82,228) are active cases,
95.4 percent (2,561,248) have recovered, and 1.49 percent (39,896) have died.

Fifty-seven duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 38 are recoveries.

Moreover, 120 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on October 10, 2021 but 3 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 3 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.4 percent samples tested and 0.4 percent of positive individuals.
