DOH: PHL records highest single day death toll for Covid-19 at 423

The Philippines on Saturday registered its highest number of Covid-19 deaths in a single day at 423.

A total of 4,008 cases were also logged by the Department of Health, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 2,783,896. There were also 6,887 recoveries.

Of the total number of infections, 1.7 percent (47,690) are active, 96.7 percent (2,693,162) have recovered, and 1.55 percent (43,044) have died.

Fifty-four duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 44 are recoveries.

In addition, 1 case was found to have tested negative and has been removed from the total case count.

Moreover, 373 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on October 28, 2021, but 4 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 4 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.1 percen5 of samples tested and 0.08 percent of positive individuals.
