DOH logs 6,637 new Covid-19 cases, 155 deaths

The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday logged 6,637 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 1, 339,467.

There were also 4,585 recoveries and 155 deaths.

Of the total number of cases, 4.4 percent (58,407) are active, 93.9 percent (1,257,774) have recovered, and 1.74 percent (23,276) have died.

Twelve duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 10 are recoveries.

Moreover, 235 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases and 107 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

All laboratories were operational on June 15, 2021 but 5 labs were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

Based on data in the last 14 days, the 5 non-reporting labs contribute, on average, 0.66 percent of samples tested and 1.14 percent of positive individuals.
