Bacolod City – The risk classification of Bacolod City, as reported by the Department of Health Region 6 Center for Health Development, dropped from high to moderate, citing a slight reduction in the average daily attack rate (ADAR), growth of cases, and health care utilization rate (HCUR), as of June 20.

Negros Occidental, on the other hand, remained in the “low risk” classification, Dr. Marie Jocelyn Te, said during the “Isyung Bakuna” online program of Philippine Information Agency 6 and DOH-WV yesterday.

The ADAR of Bacolod City slightly dropped from 18.03 to 17.43 per 100,000 population, in the past two weeks, and to 3.73 from 4.21 in Negros Occidental in the same period, Te added.

The growth of Covid cases in Bacolod City was recorded at negative three, and negative 12 for Negros Occidental, Te said.

DOH-WV records further show that the HCUR of Bacolod City in the past 14 days was recorded at 64.24 percent, and 46.88 percent for Negros Occidental.

The ADAR, HCUR and 2WGR, or the percentage rate of growth, are taken into consideration by the DOH in recommending the community quarantine status of an area.

Te added that the number of cases in Western Visayas, despite getting the low-risk classification, continues to increase, with Aklan and Guimaras in the high risk classification, while HCUR is still at moderate risk.

She also reported that positivity rate continues to increase from June 13 to 20, and this indicated increased transmission of Covid from 7.3 percent to 8 percent.
