The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region IX convenes its designated information officers from the regional office, Environmental Management Bureau IX, Mines and Geosciences Bureau IX, PENROs and CENROs to craft its 2023 Regional Consolidated IEC Action Plan.
The two-day learning event cum workshop was held on February 22-23, 2023 at Hotel Guillermo, Pagadian City.
The activity which is being facilitated by the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG) aims to develop a Regional IEC Action Plan anchored to the 8-year Regional Communication Plan focusing on the 9 Priority Programs and thrusts of Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga.
The IOs are tasked to work as one in building a strong advocacy and public awareness among its target clienteles and stakeholders mobilizing them in becoming staunch environmental advocates and stewards toward the protection, conservation and sustainable management of the environment and natural resources.
Aside from the workshop, resource speakers were also invited to lecture on social media etiquettes, misinformation versus disinformation, broadcast journalism and how to become an effective documenter.
It is expected that at the end of the 2-day learning event and workshop the participants will be able to implement one (1) comprehensive action plan for the benefit of its target audience in the region.
