On the other hand, personnel from the Sindangan Forest Product and Monitoring Station, a field office under CENRO Manukan, apprehended allegedly stocked undocumented forest products within a previously closed saw mill located at Mandih, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

The apprehension was made when the said forest protection officers where on monitoring patrol, they chanced upon the illegal forest products in plain sight within the vicinity of the saw mill which was previously closed last June 29, 2021.

Initial investigation revealed that the  owner of the mini sawmill ceased from operating and purchasing wood materials since its closure and  entrusted the establishment to his worker/employee. In view thereof, the owner of the sawmill was invited to shed more light regarding his connection on the alleged illegal activity.

The team  apprehended fifty-three (53) pieces of various naturally grown tree species   and other miscellaneous species round logs with a volume of 2,132 board feet and an equivalent value of Php 45,000.00.
