DavSur Guv Approves ₱1.2M Assistance For People’s Organizations

Davao del Sur – Governor Douglas Cagas of Davao del Sur has approved this week more than ₱ 1.2 million worth of livelihood assistance for six people’s organizations in the province.

Last Thursday (March 18), the governor granted the livelihood assistance request amounting to ₱ 525, 000.00, which will benefit three (3) people’s organizations.

One of the qualified recipients is the OFW Group for Development (HOAK) of Digos City, which will receive ₱ 200, 000.00 for its meat processing and marketing business. The association has 61 beneficiaries.

The Iman Consumer Cooperative, also of Digos City, will benefit from a ₱ 125, 000.00 livelihood assistance for its meat shop business.

A ₱ 200, 000.00 financial assistance for a micro-enterprise project will go to Balasiao Kasaglabat Association (BAKASA) of Kiblawan town, which has 60 beneficiaries.

“Even if there is a pandemic, this initiative will continue because it is all about our lives and the future of our children. We will fight whatever the challenge is,” Cagas told the officers of the organizations who were present during the signing of documents approving the livelihood assistance.

Earlier this week, the local chief executive approved the livelihood assistance totaling to ₱ 720,000.00 which is intended for three organizations from the municipalities of Kiblawan and Bansalan, and Digos City.

The Darapuay Women’s Association of Bansalan, which comprises 31 beneficiaries, will receive ₱ 300, 000.00 re-loan assistance for its rubber and sari-sari store business.

Also to receive a re-loan assistance worth ₱ 260, 000.00, will be the Barangay Lungag Farmers Association of Digos City, which has 52 beneficiaries.

The assistance is intended for the association’s micro-enterprise project.

Another micro-enterprise project worth ₱ 160,000.00 will go to Cochin Bacaca Women’s Association (COBAWA) of Kiblawan. It has 51 beneficiaries.

The livelihood assistance is part of the continuing endeavors of the local government which are anchored on the governor’s priority concerns on infrastructure, health, education, livelihood, peace and order, investment promotion, relocation site, agriculture, tourism, employment and environment or also known as I-HELP I-RATE program.
