Davao Occidental – About 100 medical frontliners of Davao Occidental province are expected to be inoculated of the COVID-19 vaccines tomorrow (March 12) during the vaccination rollout in the province.
The Provincial Health Office has prepared the New Malita Gym in the municipality of Malita as the vaccination site, and has conducted on Wednesday (March 10) a simulation exercise for the rollout.
Prince Paraiso, PHO Health, Education and Promotion officer, bared that the first batch of vaccinees will come from the three district hospitals, namely: Malita District Hospital of Malita, Tomas Lachica District Hospital of Jose Abad Santos and Sarangani Municipal Hospital of Sarangani town.
On March 9, PHO Chief Dr. Anne Margaux Bautista-Quezada and other PIATF-Davao Occidental members received 300 vials of the CoronaVac from the Department of Health Region XI.
The vaccines were temporarily stored at the PHO’s cold storage facility in Malita.
As of yesterday, the PHO has recorded a total of 212 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the province, with only one active case in Malita.
There is one suspect case involving a 23-year old female with mild symptoms, who is a locally stranded individual and resides in Barangay Pongpong, Sta. Maria.
The patient is currently on home quarantine while awaiting the result of her confirmatory testing.
