Davao de Oro: Under the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Office-XI begin to distribute five thousand pesos (P5,000) financial assistance to 2, 964 target beneficiaries of the province of Davao de Oro.
The distribution of financial aid was held at the Land Bank of Philippines (LBP), Nabunturan, Davao de Oro.
The P5,000 cash assistance is part of the DA’s initiatives for the DDO farmer-beneficiaries who were greatly affected of last year’s depreciated value of rice.
“Ang mga beneficiaries natin ay yung mga rice farmers na naapektuhan sa pag baba ng presyo ng palay last year,” said Jacinto D. Macoy, Jr. Regional Rice Coordinator, DA-11.
He added and clarify that this RFFA is not related to COVID-19 pandemic assistance to the farmers. “Pwide gihapon sila maka-avail sa unsa man ang mga ipanghatag na assistance karon sa gobyerno.”
He also explained that they were scheduled to release on March 17. “Magrelis na unta kami apan naabtan man sa COVID Pandemic mao gahapon lang jud nahan ay ug nisugot ang bank ug nakasugod nata ug relis,” Macoy said.
Present during the release of the said assistance were Jacinto Macoy, Jr. of DA-11 together with Ms. Raquel U. Dela Cerna, LBP Nabunturan Branch Manager and the Provincial Agriculturist Office officials.
“We targeted to finish distributing the cash assistance this Month of April, kay mag land preparation na ang atong mga farmer ug kinahanglanon na gyud nila sa pagka karon,” the Regional Rice Coordinator added. (Rey Antibo, ID Davao de Oro)
