Mayor Elizabeth Matugas was swab last September 27, 2020 after she was in close contact with the 67 years old female confirmed CoViD-19 positive in Surigao City last September 18, 2020 from 5:30 PM when they had a dinner in a fast food, went to Vice Mayor’s Office and in a wake or vigil of a relative. Her close contact 67 years old female died last September 26 dawn and few days later, DOH Caraga announced that she was confirmed with CoViD-19 and the first fatality in Surigao City.
Mayor Matugas forwarded the message sent by Dr. Arlene Felizarta, Provincial Health Officer:
“Gud am Mayor. I am happy to inform you that your swab test result is NEGATIVE. Result just in and confirmed by RD Llacuna of DOH Caraga. Take care mayor and God bless.”
In her message to the Dapan-ons, she urged everyone to always follow the Health Protocol. Last September 30 the Mayor simply celebrated her 66th birthday while on self quarantine. She thanked the Lord Almighty for the negative result. (OIC Jun Clerigo, RPN DXKS Surigao)
