DA Conducts KADIWA On Wheels


The Department of Agriculture (DA) regional office 9 is bringing the KADIWA On Wheels or Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa (KADIWA) para sa masaganang ani at mataas na kita in barangays Culianan Friday and then on Saturday, San Roque.

Marissa Mohammad, Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division Chief said, this is a project of the Department of Agriculture in partnership with local government, attached agencies and private sectors.

This project aims to directly link the farmers and fisherfolk to consumers in various demand areas including poor families in depressed areas in urban centers offering affordable and safe agri-fishery commodities.

Goods available for the public includes: assorted fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, dried fish, chicken, NFA Rice, processed goods like bottled sardines, bagoong, Kikiam, Tempura, Fish ball, Squid ball, Calamansi Juice & Concentrate, Coconut Vinegar, ornamentals, fruit trees seedlings, and organic products sold at a cheaper price.

This is in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Zamboanga City – Office of the City Agriculturist, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the National Food Authority (NFA), Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, and local Barangay Councils.

The office is also helping the participating farmers and groups by providing logistic support, transport facility assistance, promote, sell farmers, fisherfolk products at free cost without middlemen interventions.

Other interventions for participating farmers groups includes trainings, capacity development, access to regular buyers like malls & shopping, grocery stores, credit-linkages, and provision of agricultural facilities, equipment like weighing scale and plastic crates.
