DA-BFAR Caraga Invites You To Join In Its 1st Vlog Competition In Line With The Celebration Of The Upcoming 2021 Fish Conservation Week

Organized by the Fisheries Management Regulatory and Enforcement Division, the “FishCon” Vlog Competition aims to highlight and feature the importance of conserving the marine and inland resources for food and environmental sustainability, and the ways to protect it.

Below are the contest mechanics:

1. Open to all Filipino residents (18 years old, and above) in Caraga region, who may join as individuals or in groups. BFAR employees and their immediate family members are not qualified to join.
2. Each entry must be in a landscape orientation, at least 720×480 resolution and in mp4 format (maximum size: 1.5GB)
3. The entry should center on “Marine and/or Inland Resources Conservation” theme, with the maximum running time of 6 minutes and may use any local dialect in the region but must have English or Tagalog interpretation/subtitles.
4. The entry may use borrowed video clips with proper citation, however, it should not exceed to two (2) minutes.
5. Entries must conform to the minimum standard health protocols set by the local IATF.
6. To register, participants must accomplish the ENTRY FORM via link https://bit.ly/bfarcaragavlogcompetition and send their VLOG ENTRY at frm.bfarregion13@gmail.com, following the subject format: (Province_Entry Title)
7. Deadline for submission of entry is on September 5, 2021, 11:59PM.
8. Winning entries will be judged on the following criteria:

• Message/Relevance (30%)
• Composition/Creativity (25%)
• Technical mastery/Cinematography (25%)
• Online reach/audience impact (20%)

9. Shortlisting of the Top 10 entries will be based on the criterion A, B, and C, and the Top 10 finalists will be notified on September 8, 2021 and their entries will be uploaded in the official Facebook page of DA-BFAR Caraga for the casting of online votes for the criterion D.

10. For Online Reach criterion, only the number of “heart” reactions and the views will be counted. Voting will officially close on September 15, 2021, 11:59 PM. The entry with the highest number of “heart” reactions and most viewed video will receive a Special “People’s Choice” Award.

11. Top 3 winners will be invited and awarded (cash prizes and certificates) during the Culminating Program of the Fish Conservation Week celebration. Winners will each receive a cash prize amounting to ₱ 10,000, ₱ 8,000 and ₱ 6,000 for the first placer, 2nd placer, and 3rd placer, respectively. The People’s Choice Award will be given a cash prize worth ₱ 3,000. Consolation prize worth ₱ 1,000 will be given to the rest of the Top 10 finalist.

12. All shortlisted entries will become the property of DA-BFAR Caraga, with the right to edit, distribute, show or display the vlog for promotional activities of the Regional Bureau on its social media sites, conferences, or any other venues.
