Covid Friday: PHL records 2,651 new infections, highest daily total in 4 months

The Philippines on Friday recorded 2,651 new Covid-19 infections, the country’s highest daily total in four months. 

As of 4 p.m. of February 26, the total Covid-19 cases in the country stood at 571,327.

The Department of Health (DOH) also reported that there were 561 recoveries and 46 deaths.

When asked, the DOH did not give possible reason behind the high number of newly recorded cases as of press time.

Of the total number of cases, 6.0 percent, (34,498) are active, 91.8 percent (524,582) have recovered, and 2.14 percent (12,247) have died.

Eight laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System on February 25, 2021.
