Cops capture suspect charged with 11 counts of qualified theft
Camp Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City— Elements of Surigao City Police Station (SCPS) apprehended a 45-year old suspect for 11 counts of qualified theft during the law enforcement operation yesterday, January 22 in Brgy. Taft, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. In a report submitted by POLICE LIEUTENANT COLONEL CHRISTIAN L. RAFOLS II, Chief of SCPS to Police Regional Office (PRO)13 director POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., the suspect identified as Emmanual D. Bonotan was nabbed in his residence around 2:30pm. The operation was based on the strength of two alias warrants of arrest under Criminal Case Nos. 8974, 8975, 8976, 8980, 8985, 8986, 8987, and 8990 issued by the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 29, Surigao City, and Criminal Case Nos. 8810, 8812, and 8807 issued by the RTC Branch 32, Surigao City with recommended bail bond of Php24,000.00 each. Subject person is now under custody of Surigao CPS pending for the issuance of commitment order from the issuing court. Based on investigation, the case was filed in 2010 and 2011 against the suspect who was a former bank collector in Surigao City but failed to remit the collection money to the management.
