Davao City – Compostela Valley Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy and members of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) declared the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) ‘persona non grata’ in the province.
The declaration was stipulated in a resolution passed on Friday, January 25, during the PPOC Meeting held at the capitol in Nabunturan. The resolution also stated that the province condemns the activities of the communists related to insurgency, violent extremism, criminal acts and violations to international humanitarian codes.
Governor Uy stressed that the province wants to live in a peaceful, prosperous and happy community away from the atrocities that this rebel has caused. “Daghang nasakripisyo na kinabuhi, panginabuhian, ug negosyo tungod sa conflict na pila ka tuig na anaa kanato dinhi,” Uy said. PIA
