Comelec Reminds COC Filers To Follow Health Protocols During Filing Of COC

The Commission on Election (Comelec), reminded those who will file their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) to strictly follow health protocols during filing of COC scheduled from October 1 to 8 at KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

Comelec Zamboanga City, District 1 election officer, Atty. Stephen Roy Cañete said “Follow instructions in filing up of COC forms.”

They are also preparing the venue for the COC filing and conducting meeting with the security sector.

Some of the requirements for the filing of COC are the completely filed out COC forms, Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance, the documents must be notarized by a notary public,  passport size photo, and documentary stamps.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 protocol must also be followed during the filing those in the area must wear either surgical mask, N95, or KN95 mask, face shield must also be worn, and only two person’s will be allowed to accompany those who will file the COC.

In case a strict quarantine measures will be implemented, only the filer will be allowed inside and COC filers will be considered Authorized Persons Outside Residence for the said purpose.

However, this will be subject to the Local Interagency Task Force on Covid-19 guidelines.

Those who will be running for Congressman, Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Council are expected to file their COC. Cañete together with Atty. Jan Christian Babiera will receive their papers.

The current number of registered voters for Zamboanga City for district 1, the city has 193,912 registered voters covering 37 barangays while 209,552 for district 2 covering 61 barangays.
