Zamboanga City – Once again, Mayor Beng Climaco has earnestly called on residents of Zamboanga City and those coming in from other places to strictly observe and comply with the minimum health protocols the city government is implementing in the continuing fight against Covid-19 pandemic.

This, as Metro Manila is experiencing an unprecedented surges in Covid-19 cases that prompted the local government units there to impose much stricter protocols.

“The increasing trend in Coid-19 calls upon us to be more careful and conscious in  our protocols such as the wearing of face masks, face shields and physical distancing,” the mayor said.

She also appealed to incoming travelers to respect the policies the city of Zamboanga is implementing to protect its constituents.

“We cannot afford to have a halt in the momentum of the efforts of the city government in flattening the curve of covid cases,” Climaco pointed out during the virtual presser last Monday.

She lamented the some people and even government agencies have not comply with the required RT-PCR negative test result in coming to the city, “that is why “we have new covid cases entering Zamboanga City.”

To all those complaining against the city government, Climaco has this to say: “Acorda ustedes, si quien ta tene covid, el gubierno local el ta atende… si no hay man ustedes contribuji, esta ya lang physically safe than sorry.”

Zamboanga City will continue to be stricter in the enforcement of covid protocols and will retain the mandatory RT-PCR testing for returning residents and travelers as provided in the EO 641.

“We advise the public, this is not the time to let our guards down. Since, as I talk to you, there are covid cases surges in Metro Manila, where friends and family members are affected and some LGUs have lacked hospital facilities. That is why, we would not that to happen in the city of Zamboanga rather than complaining and complaining against the city government,” the city chief executive stressed.
