Zamboanga City – The city government of Zamboanga has allocated funds for the granting of a 20% premium on the wages and salaries of its Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (CS) employees pursuant to Joint Circular No.2 series of 2020 by the Commission on Audit (COA) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
Mayor Beng Climaco announced this during the second virtual flag raising ceremony Monday, stressing that the increase will be used to pay for the JOs and CS employees’ registration, membership and monthly contributions to the Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth and Pag-Ibig Fund.
She said the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the city government of Zamboanga and the three agencies was signed last August 2021.
The rest of the increase will cover for the mid-year and year-end bonuses of the JOs and CS employees.
This, as Mayor Climaco has emphasized that the city government acknowledges the contributions and efforts of the JOs and Contract of Service employees, most of them are part of the city’s frontline services in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Climaco added that efforts are also being made for the care and treatment of covid patients by way of the free assistance rolled out by the city government, including the continued payout of social amelioration aide to the target beneficiaries, mostly from the vulnerable sectors affected by the pandemic-driven lockdowns.
