In a significant move towards community development, the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) turned over P3.3 Million to eleven selected barangays in the city.
City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II led the turnover ceremony, joined by Cswdo Officer Lenie S. Liray, Philippine Army Representative Captain Jonel Castillo, and DSWD Representative Jonel Idea.
The following barangays received funding for their respective projects:
1. SLP-PAMANA
– Barangay Capalayan: Purchase of 1 Unit Kingcab and Water Refilling Accessories – P300,000.00
– Barangay Mapawa: Farm and Agripreneurial Support worth P300,000.00
– Barangay Quezon: Frozen and Agricultural Products Trading worth P300,000.00
– Barangay San Isidro: Rice Trading and Agripreneurial Support worth P300,000.00
– Barangay San Roque: Cattle Production worth P300,000.00
– Barangay Silop: Catfish Culture Production worth P300,000.00
-Barangay Sukailang: Purchase of 1 Unit Delivery Vehicle worth of P300,000.00
– Barangay Trinidad: Establishment of Mini-Hardware worth P300,000.00
2. EO70-PROVISION OF LIVELIHOOD TO CONFLICT VULNERABLE AREAS
– Barangay San Roque: Hog Raising worth P300,000.00
– Barangay Mabua: Chicken Production worth P300,000.00
– Barangay Poctoy: Hog Fattening worth P300,000.00
The City Government of Surigao, through the Sustainable Livelihood Program, continues to uplift communities by providing direct support for livelihood initiatives.
