The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Bacolod was adjudged as the best city field unit in 2020.

Major Mark Lesteroza, CIDG-Bacolod Chief, received the award, along with Lieutenant Colonel Gervacio Balmaceda, CIDG-6 Chief, and Chief Master Sergeant Ramiro Gocotano, Chief Investigator of CIDG-Bacolod during the 68th CIDG Founding Anniversary held at Camp Crame in Quezon City last Wednesday.

Gocotano said they were happy about the recognition, and it even motivated them to intensify their efforts against criminalities.

Gocotano said they attributed their award by complying with the top requirements of the higher office.

“Naikasa na namin ang all out operations kung saan every month may two operations kami against loose firearms, five operations against wanted person, two operations against most wanted persons in the national level, three operations against other law enforcement activities such as illegal gambling, anti-trafficking, violations of ordinances, illegal manufacturing in relation to infringement, and fake products, among others,” he added.

The CIDG was also tasked to investigate those persons involved in the anomaly on the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program during the middle of the pandemic last year.

With such recognition, Gocotano said that they received an order to intensify the dismantling of criminal gangs and to apprehend more most wanted persons. (news by Glazyl Masculino photo by tdg)
