CGO Iriga hosts Buntis Congress

As part of the celebration for the 2024 National Women’s Month, the City Government of Iriga held the Buntis Congress, dedicated to prioritizing women’s well-being and providing them with convenient access to essential healthcare services. The event was held yesterday, March 19, 2024, at the Iriga City Sports Center.

This Mega Health Caravan for women was a collaborative effort with Gov. Luigi Villafuerte and the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, Cong. Migz Villafuerte, Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center, Bicol Medical Center, and Serbisyong KAFUERTE as partners in setting a new standard in women’s healthcare delivery.

The caravan offered a wide array of free health services tailored specifically for women. Pregnant women received thorough check-ups, complemented by complimentary tests for Syphilis, Hepatitis B, and HIV. Dental consultations were also available to promote optimal oral health. Moreover, attendees had access to free ultrasound and laboratory services. Essential medicines, pregnancy kits, and vaccinations against HPV and COVID-19 were provided at no cost.

Furthermore, the caravan prioritized preventive healthcare measures by offering family planning resources, free cervical cancer screenings, and bone density scans.

The resounding success of the Buntis Congress emphasizes the City Government’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing women’s health and well-being. Together, we continue to pave the way for healthier and stronger communities.
