The 18th meeting of the Regional Task Force for Covid 19 One Caraga Shield (RTF COCS) last Wednesday, in the light of the threat posed by the dreaded Covid 19 Delta Variant reported in Region X, the RTF COCS passed a Resolution Establishing a Regional Border Control Checkpoint to strictly regulate and control the entry of people travelling from Region X to Caraga where the variant was reported to have a local transmission already.
Agusan del Norte Governor Dale Corvera, Chairman of RTF COCS said the regional checkpoint will be established starting today, July 22 at the boundary between Agusan del Norte and Misamis Oriental.
Governor Francisco “Lalo” Matugas of Surigao del Norte said in a live interview at RPN DXKS Radyo Ronda Balita that all Governors of the 5 provinces in the region are supporting the resolution. The checkpoint in Alegria, Surigao del Norte will also be augmented by the Philippine National Police.
All passengers from public utility vehicles coming from Region X will present an “exit health pass” before they are allowed to enter Caraga Region to prevent the entry of Delta Variant of COVID-19. The guidelines implementing the resolution will be issued today by the Regional Task Force for COVID-19 One Caraga Shield. (RPN DXKS Surigao)
