CA confirms 5 ambassadors, 51 senior DFA officers

THE Commission on Appointments, acting on the endorsement of the Committee on Foreign Affairs chaired by Senator Panfilo Lacson, confirmed Wednesday five new ambassadors and 51 senior officers of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Taking the floor at the CA plenary session,  Lacson endorsed the confirmation of the on the ad interim appointments of 51 Senior Officers of the DFA consisting of 6 Senior Officials promoted to the rank of Chief of Mission, Class I; 10 Senior Officials promoted to the rank of Chief of Mission, Class II; 10 Senior Officials promoted to the rank of Career Minister; and, 25 Senior Officials promoted to the rank of Foreign Service Officer, Class I.

“Your Committee, after deliberating on their qualifications and fitness during the public hearing, determined that they are fit and qualified to be in the posts where they are nominated and appointed, and therefore ruled to recommend to the plenary their appointments for the consent and approval of this body,” Lacson said.

The senator then proceeded to recommend that the CA give its consent to the nominations of the following DFA nominees:

* Ambassador Generoso Calonge as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Iraq with the rank and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class I.

* Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Korea with the rank and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class I.

* Ambassador Maria Lumen Banzon Isleta as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Sweden with concurrent jurisdiction over the Republic of Finland with the rank and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class I.

* Ambassador Maria Elena Palo Algabre as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Turkey with concurrent jurisdiction over Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan with the rank and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class II.

* Ambassador Alan Lazaro Deniega as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the People’s Republic of Bangladesh with concurrent jurisdiction over the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of Maldives with the rank and emoluments of a Chief of Mission, Class II.

Acting on the recommendation of the CA screening panel, the Commission also proceeded to confrm the ad interim appointments of the following officials to the rank of Chief of Mission, Class I:  Vicente Vivension Tejamo Bandillo, Eduardo Antonio Gonzales Macaraig, Eduardo Ramos Menez, Imelda Macapundag Panolong, Raly Lofamia Tejada and Alfonso Agbayani Ver.

Moreover, the Commission confirmed the ad interim appointments of the following officials to the rank of Chief of Mission, Class II: Grace T. Cruz-Fabella, Roberto Gutierez Manalo, Senen Tiemsin Mangalile, Flerida Ann Camille Puzon Mayo, Aileen S. Mendiola-Rau, Evangeline T. Ong Jimenez-Ducrocq, Jesusa Susana Villar Paez, Maria Angela Abrera Ponce, Eric Gerardo Escarilla Tamayo and Paul Vincent Luna Uy.

Also confirmed by the Commission were the ad interim appointments of these senior officials to the rank of Career Ministers: Reginald Sangle Bernabe, Robert Eric Alabado Borje, Lenna Eilleen C. de Dios-Sison, Christian Luna de Jesus, Marian Alnee Arugay Gamble, Roussel Remo Reyes, Jim Tito Balgos San Agustin, Hans Mohaimin Lim Siriban, Arman Racho Talbo and Kerwin Orville Casano Tate.

The Commission also confirmed the ad interim appointments of these senior officials to the rank of Foreign Service Officers, Class I: Ralph Vincent Clar de Jesus Abarquez, Rapunzel Aglipay Acop, Nomer Blevens Ado II, Jay Francis Galino Alcantara, Ma. Theresa Milallos Alders, Melvin Cordenillo Almonguera, Johann Veronica Madulid Andal, Dean Jason Nepomuceno Arriola, Therese Rodriguez Cantada, Oliver Cutamora Delfin, Helen Anne Sayo Gan, Ria Eugenio Gorospe, John Francis Solano Herrera, Irish Kay Kalaw-Ado, Kristine Margret Mendiola Malang, Jim Gabrillo Minglana, Carlyn Andrino Monastrial, Norman Escueta Padalhin, Analyn De Leon Ratonel, Rommel Ariman Romato, Joyleen Espinosa Santos, Rodney Jonas Lucido Sumague, Maurice Arcamo Tiempo, Eric Petallana Valenzuela and Duke Apalisok Villanueva.
