The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) hereby reminds the public that swimming activities along the on-going slipway project of PCG and ENTRY OF UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL on the premises of newly constructed Light Station Surigao (also known as PAROLA) which is located at Surigao City Boulevard, Brgy. Taft, Surigao City is strictly PROHIBITED.
Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte already installed a warning signs purposely to ensure the safety of the public for any occurrence of untoward incidents in the area.
PCG Slipway project aims to have an accessible area for the launching of PCG’s floating assets and to be able to immediately respond during the conduct of Search and Rescue (SAR) Operations.
On the other hand, Light Station Surigao serves as navigational aid for maritime pilots at sea or inland waterways as well as help guide vessels safely into and out of harbors.
